Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT):
The Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) consists of a team of professionals who provide support to each student within the school. The team uses a range of therapeutic interventions including teaching anger management and ‘zones of regulation’. This in turn helps to facilitate a positive environment for learning.
The team consists of occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, arts therapists, learning mentors, the school nurse, educational psychologists and additional specialists, for example for visual and hearing impairment. Also working within the team are family support staff and safeguarding officers who provide a circle of support around students and their families.
Collectively, the team works to build trust and communication between school and home. The team meets every two weeks to discuss students and additional support that can be offered.
If you are worried about your child or are in a difficult situation, you can contact us for support. We will support you where possible or refer you to external agencies.
